This is a book of love. Love that was not enough to save the trees, but hopefully prepared the environment to grow new seeds.

It is a book of hope. That somehow or other, the next generation will be able to find themselves not separate from the trees, or from the larger environment, but co-creatures in this endangered planet.

It is a book of gratitude. For the century-old trees that used to provide a canopy of shade along the Manila North Road (MNR) also known as MacArthur Highway, in the municipalities of Rosales, Villasis, Urdaneta, Binalonan, Pozorrubio and Sison in Pangasinan.

It is a book of remembrance. Because we will not forget our relationship with the trees of our childhood.

It is a book of learning. To be able to discern the meaning of our experiences with the environment and with each other.
